    Opportunities in the Defence Sector Webinar

    We have partnered with representatives from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) to deliver a webinar on April 30, 2026, from 10:00am-11:30am, focused on business opportunities within Canada’s defence sector. This session will provide an overview of the defence landscape, outline FedDev Ontario’s role, and highlight how they support companies interested in entering or expanding within the sector.

    Tourism Simcoe County – Made in Simcoe County Virtual Workshop Series

    Tourism Simcoe County is thrilled to launch their Made in Simcoe County Program and are looking for local makers, producers, and chefs across the County to join one of the three upcoming Made in Simcoe County workshops. The workshops will introduce the Made in Simcoe County program and its benefits, explain why certification matters, walk through eligibility criteria and application checklists, and will end with a live Q&A. Each virtual workshop is tailored to the specific business category. Registration is now open!

    Executive Leadership Program

    Delivered by Georgian College and Lakehead University, the Executive Leadership Program will run from May 26-28, 2026. The program builds on participants’ real-world experience, analyzes their personal leadership style, and helps them improve their own impact and drive performance and culture within their organization.

    Executive directors, chief executive/operating officers, senior leaders from a broad range of industries including corporate, government, manufacturing, community services and healthcare looking for executive leadership training in Simcoe County can learn more and register here.     Save-the-Date: Workforce Connect Conference 2026

    Workforce Connect Conference is returning June 18 at Brooklea Golf and Country Club from 9:00am–12:30pm. This year’s event will offer a half‑day of learning and connection featuring labour market insights, funding opportunities and perspectives on successful applications, plus real‑world employer‑led solutions for building resilient workplaces in Simcoe County. Details and registration coming soon.

    2026 Doors Open Simcoe County

    Tourism Simcoe County is seeking participant locations for Doors Open Simcoe County on Saturday, September 19, 2026. All sites must be open from (at least) 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on that date. Participating sites must be of historical, architectural, natural or cultural significance. For additional details, please see here.

    Doors Open Ontario is a heritage and cultural tourism program coordinated in partnership between the Ontario Heritage Trust and a network of provincewide community partners. The basic premise of the event is to provide free access to sites of historical, architectural, natural and/or cultural significance, that are not normally open to the public or that are hosting something special for Doors Open.

    Interested organizations wishing to learn more or to register as a host location are encouraged to review the Participant Guide and submit the included registration form no later than June 1.

    SM Skillforce – Training Session: Funding Readiness for Employers

    SM Skillforce is hosting a free morning session on ‘Funding Readiness for Manufacturers and Employers’ on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 8:00am-10:00am. The event will take place at Sandbox Centre, 24 Maple Avenue, 2nd Floor, Barrie, and will offer a practical overview of current federal and provincial funding opportunities, what is changing, and how to assess which opportunities may be worth pursuing. Topics will include:

    • funding currently available to manufacturers and employers

    • employment and skills development supports

    • how to determine whether a project is truly funding ready

    Breakfast will be provided, and space is limited. Registration can be completed using the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TJPY8MC. Please note that registration will close Friday, May 15.
